Current Events
Current Events, often abbreviated as CE, is the largest social board on GameFAQs, as well as one of the oldest. Its board number is 400. The users of Current Events like to be known as CEmen. Likewise, most notable events that happen on Current Events tend to get named such that "CE" is featured prominently in their title, such as CEnco de Mayo, DeCEmation, and SilenCE.
History
In its early history, Current Events was considered fairly mature and serious, and many of GameFAQs's most well-known users of the time called CE home. After the privatization of Life, the Universe, and Everything, this changed drastically as many of the castoffs and troublemakers of that board, as well as the normal influx of new users, flocked to CE. In early 2005, then administrator CJayC asked CE if they too would like to become a private board as LUE had before it. CE turned the offer down overwhelmingly. Since that time, users have speculated various times that the board might be privatized over incidents such as the Jediknight12345 church-fire, but to date, there has been no indication that SBAllen has any intent to do such a thing.
